Class of 1957 - Blackburn Primary School

The Blackburn Primary School No. 2923 officially opened on the 1st May 1889 and in 1989 celebrated its “Centenary”.

During the event many past students of Grade 6 (1957) decided to organize a “Class’57” future Re-Unions. A long process of research resulted in contacting over 100 of the 130 past students who attended their class progression from 1951 to 1957.

Class Objective:

  1. Invite all students and encourage attendance no matter what their circumstances may be in life.

  2. Invite and welcome any family of a student unable to attend or is now deceased.

  3. Continue to research and invite “Lost Legends”.

  4. Celebrate every year using the school or local function room as venue.

Research Information obtained on students was gathered from the Blackburn Primary School Class records and Centenary Celebration 1989, Neighbors, Business and other Re-Union functions.

Student Research:

Researching past students is time consuming and a difficult task and it is never our intention to upset or cause any disharmony when making contact about past students.

However, we will continue to search lost students in the hope that they can come and enjoy a wonderful and exciting time.

We extend our sympathy to family members and class mates who have lost a loved one over the years. Students from Class of 57 always extend an open invitation for any family member, class mate or friend to come and maybe hear about past friendships or experiences.

If you can help in providing any form of contact information on lost students, we would be pleased to hear from you.
